you can have your own boards right now, it's just complicated at the moment. you have to use bitsocial-cli and 5chan-board-manager, then anyone can use your board on 5chan, subscribe to it, and you can add it to the topbar and >>>/subs/. But it should be easier to do all of this, and new boards should be more visible on 5chan, both things are planned. many things are planned actually, check picrel. At the moment the only clear advantage is no global bans.
