Wow I really like the verification thingy no more captcha shiet, only thing that matters now is to make the site more liveable

it is less moderated. here on /b/, this AI moderation challenge i've designed (it's a combination of a cheap classifier by default, a low reasoning model, and a big model when needed) should let all posts should go through, except for those that obviously shouldn't, i.e. illegal stuff, spam, scams, etc. I can double check manually and fine-tune it if needed.
if the AI doesn't let a post through, it can't outright delete it, it just sends it to mod queue, where human mods (me and a few others) can decide to let it through or delete it. this is different user experience than 4chan, but I think it works well.

yeah we used to have captchas, and we saw in real time the moment when cheap LLMs became smart enough to break them, iirc it was 2024. that was crazy. we should've documented it somewhere, writing a blog post or something, but the project sucked optics-wise. i wonder how many sites still uses captchas today, they can all be bypassed apparently.>>1700 (OP)

to achieve that, I think we need to let users create boards seamlessly from within this site. i'm working on that right now. a new major version is coming soon with board creation on web. users will also be able to submit their boards to directories, like https://5chan.app/b/directory, and vote for them with 5chan Pass (also coming soon). this should be fun, we should start seeing a lot more boards created by users, maybe even customized to some degree, and also i'll index them on https://5archive.org (which powers /search/ too).
until then, this is just slow/boring 4chan, so i'm not surprised it's not growing yet. the killer feature should be to create your own board, which you can already do technically, via cli and PRs, but it's too hard for non-devs, for now.>>1701
