The Iranian civilization lives on. It's pretty clear the US thought that Iran would capitulate after the initial strikes on their leadership and/or Iranians would rise up trying to overthrow the regime after those strikes, they were convinced by the israelis it would be something swift, not a long lasting war. But the US severely miscalculated the IRGC, they're not "Christians" (evangelicals) who are scared to die and would sell their own mother to make a deal, for better or worse these people genuinely believe in their propaganda and are willing to die for it. An atheistic real estate salesmen like Trump and his televangelists supporters will never understand that.
